I will make the bold statement that my building -Villas Kaukan- is in many ways the best place to stay in all of Zihuatanejo. Before I get into the reasons why let me tell you about my rental condo. I live here part of the time so my condo reflects my personal aesthetic and need for comfort. I have tried to keep things simple and elegant and would hope you can appreciate my lifestyle. Of course it is yours while you are the guest and I and the management will do everything possible to ensure you have an unforgettable experience and want to come back. 

The building is situated at the intersection of two districts in Zihua- La Madera and La Ropa. You will virtually be living IN the Madera Beach, while just enough above it to appreciate the rhythm of the beach and the people who use it. You will be able to walk everywhere in 15 minutes if you choose- to downtown and to supermarkets and the Central Market. If walking is not your thing there are waiting taxis right outside the front door. Or you can mix it up by walking down the hill and taxi back home up the hill. 

On the other hand you may never want to leave the condo. The rooftop pool offers the most spectacular view of Zihua bay, with the extra ingredient that you are close enough that you feel you are “IN IT”. The building is new and is the  architectural masterpiece of one of Zihua and Mexico’s most renowned architects- Enrique Zozaya. Frankly it is stunning. 

Some details about my unit: 

1. Furniture designed and fabricated by Anuar Samperio- one of Zihua’s premier furniture makers. And a signature commissioned painting by one of Zihua’s finest artists and teacher of many local artists- Alfredo Tapia. 

2. Gorgeous marble low dining table with low slung chairs for casual dining comfort. 

Interesting 2-piece teardrop shape slate coffee table.

Granite kitchen counters and island. (Please use coasters on all surfaces as they easily can pick up impressions from hot and cold items).

3. 2 TV’s- a large 65” Samsung 4K QLED in the bedroom for your streaming pleasure. And a smaller 43” LG in the living area with cable access (Megacable). Wifi is excellent throughout the condo as I have installed an extender to send the signal to all corners. 

4. There is a small work area with a desk in case you want to get some work done during your stay. 

There are of course many other items I could comment on but most of those you would already expect. 

One thing to add- the kitchen might be considered “sparse” by foodies. I am a largely vegetarian/raw fooder so I keep my kitchen simple. The necessities are here- French press coffee maker, popcorn maker, microwave oven, toaster oven, stovetop, reverse osmosis water filtration system, garbage disposal, manual citrus juicer for fresh orange, grapefruit juice, etc.  Zihua has become quite a foodie Mecca with dozens of restaurants and the immediate neighborhood- “Adelita” has become a “restaurant row”.
